About

NYCityMama is a catalogue of my travel and food adventures.
I don’t just list what to do, I live it and take some nice pictures too! NYCityMama.com is a family-friendly travel site where New York City – the city I love and where most of my adventures take place – is prominently highlighted.
I’m out to make travel more tangible, more relatable, and to prove to families that it is possible to enjoy all travel has to offer, either close to home or on the road, with kids or not.
Every once in a while, I will also share my personal opinions, that may or may not have anything to do with travel or food, and I will share a thing or two that make my life better, easier, or just plain happier.
I’ve lived in different parts of the world, but am still a girl from Brooklyn, for better or worse.
Thank you for visiting my site! I hope you enjoy reading and browsing through all the various sections, but most of all I hope it inspires you to taste, travel, and live life to the fullest.
Formally, my bio is as follows:
Carol Cain is a freelance travel and food writer and native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn. She’s a former publishing and public relations professional, with an MBA in International Relations. She is bilingual, with a fluency in Spanish. NYCityMama.com, a travel and food site, has been nominated as Best NYC Blog by Nickelodeon’s Parent’s Picks, NBC named Carol one of NYC’s “The 20“ most influential people to follow on Twitter, and Babble.com named NYCityMama.com one of the Top 100 Mom Blogs of 2011.
She lives with her husband and three boys.
