Food Drive for the Keith Haring Food Pantry, NYC
Only 7 more days to go before the drive that I have started at YouGiveGoods.com to collect food for the Keith Haring Food Pantry comes to an end. My hope was to collect $1,500 worth of food, and purchased for food to be donated is up to $140.00. Here is a direct link to my drive – Food Drive for the Keith Haring Food Pantry.
The Keith Haring Food Pantry needs help. Budget cuts and the effects of the economy has led to a decrease in supply. Supply that so many of those affected by HIV need to stay healthy and win the battle.
I ask that you please take the time to visit my campaign and make a purchase. It can be a can of beans, or a box of cereal or noodles. No donation is too small.
GMHC’s Keith Haring Food Pantry is an organization near and dear to my heart for their work to help provides food to low-income, HIV-positive clients. It is a client choice food pantry, meaning, instead of getting pre-packed food bags, clients are able to choose the foods they would like in specific categories such as lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains and cereals. The pantry strives to procure the healthiest food items available for clients and regularly offer an array of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins (beans, canned fish and tofu) and low sodium canned items. A Registered Dietitian is present in the food pantry at all times to help the clients decide what foods to choose from based on individual health concerns.
Please help and spread the word. I know together we can fill the pantry for those in need.
Thank you!
