Features and Maintenance of Your Whirlpool Duet Washer & Dryer
For my last review post about the Whirlpool Duet Washer and Drier, I want to again highlight the features that I loved the most and that really make these machines one of the best we’ve ever owned.
The Washer:
Whirlpool WFW97HEXL ENERGY STAR Qualified Duet 4.3 cu. ft. Capacity I.E.C. Equivalent Front Load Washer, 10 Automatic Cycles, 6th Sense Technology, LED Display: Lunar Silver – MSRP: $1,599.00
Features I loved the most on this washer is that it is definitely way more efficient than other washers I have had, washes really well, and provides with plenty of washing cycle options and settings to best fit my needs, both already set and with features to allow you to custom set your own.
It’s an attractive machine with LED lighting and a soft sound to indicate both start and end of cycle. It’s also one of the quietest machines I’ve ever owned. I love the front load option and the capacity of the machine.
The Dryer:
Whirlpool WED97HEXL Duet Steam 27″ Electric Steam Dryer with 7.4 cu. ft. Capacity, 13 Cycles, Quick Refresh/Enhanced Touch-Up Steam Cycles, Widescreen LCD Controls and Quiet Dry Ultra System, Lunar Silver- MSRP $1,599.99
Like the washer, I love the front load feature, the LED lights, the size of the cabin, the efficiency, setting options, and the low noise.
In both machines the options I use both are the quick wash and dry option. This has come in handy when I just need to wash my gym clothes early in the morning before a work out, or a shirt my teen wants to wear to school.
In addition to the machine, I receive the Whirlpool XW29000XL Laundry 1-2-3 Worksurface in Lunar Silver. This working surface goes over the machine and though it’s too high for me to actually work over it, I do use it to place clean clothes on it, when folding clothes as I take them out of the dryer. It retails for about $270.00 and it’s a nice accessory to have when, like me, you don’t have much working space for laundry in your basement or where ever your machines are located. It’s stain resistant and has a backsplash that prevents things from falling between or behind the machines.
To care for the machines, I have been using Affresh Cleaners, tablets which slowly dissolve in the washer and help freshen it up and clean it so that your machine (and your clothes) don’t end up with a dingy smell. It’s worked pretty great and with the price of the machine, it’s best to do whatever necessary to maintain them.
I want to thank Mom Central Consulting and Whirlpool for including me in the #WhirlpoolMoms campaign. Our family is getting a lot of use from these machines and my husband and I love them.
Disclosure: As a Whirlpool Mom I am participating in test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a complimentary Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer to facilitate my review. The opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
