Whirlpool Duet Washer & Dryer and I – In Perfect Balance (Product Review)

So, I am still getting to know my new Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. It’s not at all a complicated situation, but it’s definitely the first time I have ever sat down to read the manual for an appliance so thoroughly. And that is because these machines have so much to offer and so many ways to make my life, and the task of doing laundry so easy.

There are some new settings I have been playing around with as of late, such as the FanFresh feature. This is perfect for me because I will often throw laundry in the machine to wash and get so busy that I forget about it. Then it just sits there. And sits there. And by the time I come around, I have to run the machine again. However, this feature, when selected on the machine, will let the washer know to automatically activate the vent fan and tumble the load periodically for up to 16 hours. I mean, I can program a feature to know me.

Another feature where I can set the computer to function in a way that knows me and my laundry habits is the custom cycle feature.

I can save up to 7 custom cycles, but if that’s too much programing for me, the machine also has a series of speciality cycles that I can select from, for such things as Intimates to Decorative Pillows to Kidswear. Honestly, it’s such a time and worry saver.

Oh, and one thing that I also learned about my machine this week, which was driving me a little nuts, was how to reduce the drying time on the manual cycles. Sometimes, I would set the washer to dry and it was give me an hour or more of drying time, which didn’t always work for me or didn’t always merit so much time.

I know. It doesn’t sound all that exciting to some. But laundry in my house is a really big deal and convenience is an even bigger deal. Having discovered both the dryer adjustment feature, as well as the FanFresh feature really helped reduce the amount of energy consumption in my laundry too, which is an extra bonus for us.

Husband that does laundry not included in the amazing features, but really great to have as well.

Having a washer and dryer that does more than just wash and dry, but also serves to really provide the perfect balance of laundry needs and convenience to fit the specifics needs of each wash? Pretty amazing.
