Beauty & Pampering with Aveda Summer Solutions, NYC

This past week I had the honor to host several of my bloggy friends at the Aveda at The Shops Columbus Circle.

Since my partnership with Aveda to help promote their Summer Solutions products, I myself had a chance to check them out. The highlight for me with these products (aside from the fact that they are all natural, plant-based products, and in addition to Aveda’s commitment to environmental leadership and responsibility, not only in their products, but also in their salons and services) is that the smell so good and feel so great in my hair and on my skin.

My favorite product is the Damage Daily Hair Repair. Even on humid days, my curls feel soft and are in control, and I’ve notice more moisture (or rather not so much dryness) in my hair since using it. It’s my “must have” now.

But other great Summer Solutions products is the Nourish-mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze – especially on long trips when my lips tend to get dry and not so great looking, and the Foot Relief, to help soften my feet after hours of adventures and running around in the city, often in flip flops and after my kids.

It’s not enough for me to say I like a product, which is why in addition to trying the products myself and giving some away to my readers, I got to share the Aveda Summer Solutions experience with over 25 of my blogging friends.

The ladies had a chance to enjoy appetizers catered by Whole Foods and while sipping on cool Aveda Comforting Tea, iced and flavored with orange slices and mint – they received make-up, skin, and hair consultations and touch-ups. Some were so immediately impressed by the products that they bought some on the spot, in addition to the ones they got in their gift bags, courtesy of the Aveda team.

I had a blast hosting this beauty night with my blogger friends – many of them mothers just like me, looking for ways to protect our skin and our hair from the summer’s sun and heat, while also looking pretty and fresh.
