Winter Film Festival at Citi Pond in Bryant Park

Now that the Holiday season is long gone, many New Yorkers are feeling that the only thing remaining is  the cold with nothing much to do. So many are left longing for the warm weather.

But there are still plenty of places that continue to celebrate the Winter season. One such place is a favorite NYC destination of mine, Bryant Park.

Every Monday till February 14 Citi Pond will be celebrating the very first Winter Film Festival. Winter-themed, family-friendly flicks will be projected on a 900-square-foot screen and can be enjoyed either from Citi Pond’s rink or in the warmth of the Celsius restaurant.

We were able to enjoy the kick-off yesterday with the screening of Happy Feet. The fun part of watching the movies from the restaurant is that we were able to enjoy their food as well, such as crispy fries, delicious sliders, popcorn and some very, yummy warm chocolate.

But you don’t have to be indoors, if you wish to sit outside, like so many others did yesterday, just remember to dress warmly and bring a blanket. Movies will be shown snow or shine! The event is free of charge (food is not), and all are welcome. Just another reason to love New York City, no matter what the weather!
