Winter’s Eve Celebrations at Lincoln Center
This year’s Winter’s Eve will take place on Monday, November 29 at 5:30PM with the lighting of the Lincoln Square Holiday Tree in Dante Park at 63rd Street and Broadway. Come with the family and enjoy all entertainment leading up to the actual tree lighting, which this year will be hosted by WABC-TV anchor Sade Baderinwa and broadcast by WABC.
From 6:00-9:00 festivities abound all along Broadway from Time Warner Center to 68th St: FREE entertainment in over 15 venues in Lincoln Square area – from Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul fiddling their hearts out the Winter’s Eve Dance Tent and jazz greats Anat Cohen, Avishai Cohen and John Pizzarelli performing at the American Folk Art Museum to Harlem Samba and Chia Dance Party heating up the temperature all along Broadway, giant puppets from Arm of the Sea and lots of marching bands and youth choirs filling the streets with the holiday spirit, Kidrockers at “Kid Central” at the Bible Society, Big Apple Circus acts and the Rose Rutledge Trio from Jazz at Lincoln Center at Time Warner Center and much more!
Check out the three food tents throughout Winters Eve which offer tastings (from $1-$4 each) from over 30 of Lincoln Square’s best restaurants – from first time participants Atlantic Grill and Telepan, to P.J. Clarke’s, Porter House NY, Bouchon Bakery, A Voce, Bar Masa, Rosa Mexicano, Sapphire Indian Cuisine, Landmarc, Café Fiorello, Ed’s Chowder House, ‘wichcraft, Magnolia Bakery and many more. Some of the chefs are donating a portion of the evening’s sales to CITY HARVEST to feed NY’s needy, and we’re encouraging Winter’s Eve visitors to bring canned food donation to various drop-boxes throughout Lincoln Square and a City Harvest truck at 63rd & Broadway during the festival.
Most of the Lincoln Square retailers will be open late the night of Winter’s Eve, offering holiday cheer and special values just for this evening. See you there!
