Party at The Scholastic Store in Soho
It’s no secret that I love the Scholastic Store in Soho. It is one of those gems that New York is very proud of. We have a lot of great bookstores in New York City, but I if you live in the city and haven’t been, or are visiting NY, you definitely should stop by and check this place out. It isn’t just a store, it’s an experience.
So imagine my delight when I was asked to co-host a Halloween Extravaganza at their rooftop greenhouse!
Most people who are familiar with the store know only about their Party Loft, a second-level space, over looking the store. They are always booking events and private parties here, and it’s a wonderful place to host a little one’s birthday party. The Scholastic Store offers different theme options and as well as catering options.
The Scholastic Greenhouse takes that event experience to the next level. Not just for birthday parties, though of course the space is perfect for it as well. This Greenhouse can accommodate 271 for a reception event and seat 125 people. It’s wrap-around terrace and natural lighting boasts unobstructed views of lower Manhattan and killer sunsets.
A kitchen allows for catering service and the outdoor terrace (which has the capacity for 200) further compliments the party experience.
They also have an auditorium, a Penthouse, a resource center, and more. Our Halloween party was in the Greenhouse. We had awesome treats and fun activities for the kids, and the special lighting and fun music really helped to get everyone in the fun Halloween spirit.
The Special Events and Management team are a dream to work with. They make sure that no detail is left unnoticed. And when it comes to kids, they are full of fun ideas and really put their hearts into their work. I was excited to be a part of this experience, and even more excited to have been able to share it with my family.
I loved seeing all the little kids dressed up, dancing, playing games, getting their faces painted, making cupcake spiders, and meeting the special guests that dropped by such as Clifford The Big Red Dog, Mrs. Fizzle from The Magic School Bus, and Geronimo! Kids also loved story time and taking part in a scavenger hunt. Everyone walked away with a little gift bag which included a discount coupon for any purchase at the store.
All in all, it was an amazing event. A lot of smiles, chocolate-covered faces, and happy parents and kids. If you came, thank you! If you missed, I hope you can make another event there. And if you are interested in booking space for your event with The Scholastic Store, feel free to contact them at 212-343-6215. Also note that Scholastic Store hosts FREE kid-friendly events every Saturday of every month, either focused around a book theme, a Holiday, and other favorites!
