September is Magical Dining Month in Orlando, FL
Not too long ago I had the chance to visit Orlando. As a matter of fact, I’ve been to Orlando, FL more times this year then I have in a long time.
I had the opportunity to taste some amazing dishes served at many Disney parks. I also had the opportunity to savor the culinary masterpieces I discovered in the Loews Pacific Royal restaurants. But what about outside of these? I was left curious about the culinary scene in Orlando and reached out to the Orlando CVB to help me experience it.
And so, at the end of August, I will be joining a few foodie and travel bloggie friends and taking part in the beginning stages of Magic Dining Month. Like NYC’s Restaurant Week, except this is a month long, Orlando will offer us the opportunity to taste and experience a wide array of the best of their culinary scene.
Surprised? Don’t be. It turns out culinary experts and foodies alike have taken notice of Orlando. Having been a resident there once myself, I believe it. For though I rarely ate at the parks’ restaurant, I also rarely had a bad meal.
During the 5th annual Orlando Magical Dining Month the best Orlando-area restaurants will offer three-course dinners for $30. From Sept. 1 – 30, 2010, locals and visitors alike can indulge in Orlando’s haute cuisine for this amazing value at some of the destination’s most popular restaurants, including Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, The Capital Grille, Luma on Park and Norman’s. There will be a total of about 50 participants in all and this year, $1 of each purchased dinner will be donated to the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Central Florida.
I am looking forward to spending a few days in Orlando eating, drinking, photographing, and sharing all the Good Eats I find. Please be sure to follow me on twitter from August 26-30, 2010 for updates, and if your travels take you there in the month of September, be sure to check out Magical Dining Month’s website for more information.
