NYCityMama has joined Savvy Savings & Scholarships, a new offers program that raises money for local preschools and a “preschool for all” scholarship fund from The Savvy Source.

Each week, readers will have an opportunity to purchase and significantly save on fun, family-friendly activities in the five participating metro areas.

Every offer is at least 50% off of the normal price, sometimes up to 90%. Offers vary from 50% off of annual memberships to zoos, museums and aquariums to deeply discounted tickets to amusement parks.

5% of each purchase will be donated  to a preschool of your choice. Another 5% of each purchase will be donated to a scholarship fund created to help local area parents afford preschool for their children.

As an Advisory Board member, NYCityMama.com will donate the 3% that we earn from your purchases to charity before November 25, Thanksgiving Day, 2010.

Our goal is to raise money to donate to Alianza Dominicana, a non-profit community development organization which partners with youth, families and public and private institutions to revitalize economically distressed NYC neighborhoods. Alianza’s mission is to assist children, youth and families break the cycle of poverty and fulfill their potential as members of the global community.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved in a program that enables us to help our communities on a very local level.
