The Cupcake Collection: A Sweet Dream Come True in Nashville, TN
During our visit to Nashville, TN our friend Carrie let us know about a wonderful cupcake shop that had opened up in the area of Germantown a few years ago worth checking out. We went to The Cupcake Collection and had a chance to connect with the owner Mignon Francois, a New Orleans transplant who had come to Nashville after her husband had found work here.
When we arrived the home living room/kitchen turned bakery and shop was bustling. A woman before us seemed to be ordering up tons of cupcakes to go, most of which were the “wedding cupcake”.
The space was small, but smelled sweet and buttery. Over the counter of whimsically colored cupcakes we could see a busy staff mixing and baking, decorating and filling orders.
The cupcakes are truly amazing, and worth the trip over to Germantown for a box full of them. No lard or preservatives, just basic, good ol’ homemade goodness. The coconut was my absolute favorite, but then so were the lemon.
Ms. Francois came out to greet me. A lovely young woman with an engaging smile, she was easy to talk to and happily shared with us the story behind her success; a story which serves to remind us all about the value and strength of perseverance, creativity, and kindness of others.

Ms. Francois has the most amazing smile!!
The Lemon Cupcakes are my personal favorite, but I’ll take any of them. Often.
Omg, those cupcakes look soooo good! I bet that lemon one was delish! I just love cupcakes. I did some pretty ones for a friend’s wedding a couple years back.
What’s there not to love about cupcakes?! I love anything coconut, too!
I love the coconut ones because they are so crunchy and coconutty and then—swoon—cupcake and creamy inside! Yum!
Ooh Yakini…we must try to recreate your creation…at my house!
Hi Carrie—Yes, all are good too! lol!
Thanks Sonia!
