George Wein’s CareFusion Jazz Festival Kicks Off in New York
Thursday, June 17 marks the beginning of the CareFusion Jazz Festivals. The Festivals were developed in order to increase awareness for the need to help improve medication safety and prevent healthcare-acquired infections, emphasizing positive change and raising money to develop technologies for that purpose. The CareFusion Jazz Festival Series taps the human and healing elements of jazz to highlight healthcare safety and those working to improve care.
Bringing together some of the world’s most brilliant jazz musicians, some of the series in the festivals also serve to host multiple VIP fundraising events for caregivers and hospital administrators, giving them a chance to learn more about the Rhythm of Care and CareFusion while listening to legendary and up-and-coming jazz artists.
The first concert series begins Thursday June 17 at places like Carnegie Hall, The Studio Museum of Harlem, and Puppets Jazz Club just to name a few. Prices vary upon venue, with some concerts being free while others, such as the held on Friday, June 18 at the Flushing Council in Queens, charging a fee as part of their fundraising efforts for the series.
Concerts will be held in New York, Newport, and Chicago. Be sure to check the performance schedule to see where there is a concert near you. Come out, enjoy the beauty and wonders of some of the largest and oldest jazz concerts in the world, and help raise awareness and funds for this great cause.
