A Parent’s Survival Guide to Navigating Boston
During my recent trip to Atlantis, I had the pleasure of meeting Kim Foley MacKinnon, author of many guidebooks, including Boston for Families, and a fellow travel writer.
Kim has authored yet another wonderful book, Boston Baby, A Field Guide for Urban Parents, which brings the best information on Boston to the hands of the families who live and visit there. Whether you are looking for support groups for new parents, or deals and free admission days at the local museums and attractions, or the best indie bookstores to visit with the kids, this helpful guide has it all.
As a mom herself, Kim brings a wonderful insight based off of what she has learned and discovered with her child in tow, and those services and places that have made raising her daughter in Boston a happy parenting experience.
Though I obviously don’t live in Boston, it is one of my favorite places to visit with the crew, and I especially found her calendar of events a useful one in helping us decide the best times to schedule a trip to one of our favorite cities, and catch up with the friends we have there.
If you live in Boston, or even if you just like to take trips with the family to this great city, I would highly recommend you pick up a copy of Boston Baby, A Field Guide for Urban Parents.
Boston is an awesome city, we have a great time every time we visit. Though this isn’t a book for tourists such as myself, a lot of the information found here would be helpful to us as well and I’ve earmarked my favorite places and must-sees for our next trip over!
Kim is also the editor of Daily Candy Boston Kids.
