The Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center
This year my family and I enjoyed the yearly tradition of what is The Big Apple Circus experience. If you haven’t heard already how truly great it is, especially for younger children like mine, than please let me be the one to tell you what you’ve been missing!
The circus, much smaller than some others, has set up a tent at Lincoln Center and the fun begins the moment you step onto the pathway leading into them, with an inflatable Bello dancing as you pass.
The lights and red carpets, the popcorn and cotton candy, and flashing toys: all these incited in my children incredible joy and excitement, even before we got to our seats.
I love the smaller venue, I thought it was better for my younger kids. No matter what the seat, you’ll have a good view, which makes it more personal and enjoyable. We (my husband) were prepared to have to run after the kids at one point or another during the show. It’s something that we (my husband) almost always ends up doing. However, this wasn’t necessary.
From beginning to end, my children were entertained. In awe of it all. The entertainers, the music, the suspense of seeing the performers in mid-air. It was so great to look over and see their little mouths wide open in complete, beautiful childhood wonder.
The fun had between Bello and his Grandma was perfect for the kids (and we enjoyed it as well), and it just went on without becoming repetitive or overwhelming.
Sadly, the Big Apple Circus will be breaking down it’s tent for the season soon with it’s last performance only two weeks away, on January 18. But you still have time to catch a show or two. I have to say, and my husband agrees, this was truly a wonderful circus experience. We will be catching another show before they leave, especially since my kids continue to ask to see Bello and the Circus over and over.
Visit The Big Apple Circus website for more info and tickets and try seeing a show before they leave I know you will enjoy it!
