1800-Flowers & The Palm, Two NY Success Stories, Join Forces
Last week I was invited by the wonderful team of 1-800-Flowers to attend an event at one of New York City’s most prestigious steakhouses, The Palm Restaurant.
I love supporting the 1-800-Flowers family in their ventures, because, well, they are so darn nice and down to earth, but also because they are the symbol of a hard working New York family who has succeeded, not just in business, but in the business of making people smile.
The same is true for The Palm. A classic American steakhouse, with deep roots in New York, it still serves with the Italian tradition of happiness and smiles around the dinner table and its known as a primary venue for all things celebratory.
Turns out that 1-800-Flowers CEO JimMcCann, used to dream about eating at The Palm when he was a child. To him it represented the glory of New York, the success and reward of hard work, and of course, a wonderful dining experience not often available to his large family. However, after a surprise visit given to him as a gift from his father, and after experiencing the wonderful hospitality so indicative of The Palm tradition, he has made it a point to always come back for more no matter where his travels may take him.
And now The Palm and 1-800-Flowers, two icons associated with the many celebrations we have in our lives, have joined forces so that we too can share that experience with others through a specially designed gift basket.
The Palm Italian Gift Basket is a gourmet basket full of delights that will make any celebration a grand one. The retail value of this basket is $139.99, but what you get, in my opinion, is truly priceless. It includes Italian foods and a $50 gift card to any of The Palm locations. It’s scheduled release date is October 5th and after having a look at the basket up close and personal, I can assure you it would make a great Holiday gift as well.
But I also got to see several new gift baskets soon to become available through 1-800-Flowers. I especially loved a Starbucks one that I saw, and another made up with a beautiful selection of California wines. The selection coming out soon are gifts that make you excited about giving. I know I would be thrilled to receive any one of them (hint, hint)!
The 1-800-Flowers event hosted at The Palm was absolutely lovely. I drank white wine, while chatting it up with Julie about her new grandchild, Jim, the lovely people from The Palm, and a few of my favorite bloggers attending. No kids, and all before 2PM in a beautiful location, in the best city in the world.
If that’s not reason enough to celebrate, I don’t what is.
