Bubble Fun on Times Square, NYC
One of the great things about living in New York City is that New Yorkers love a good celebration, of any kind. There need not be a logical reason for it. Spread the word of a fun event, and New Yorkers are there. Such is the case of the 3rd Annual Bubble Battle in Times Square. Originally started in Astor Place, its popularity grew and thousands more came each year, moving the event to the now pedestrian-friendlier Times Square.
NYCity Mama, hubby, and little ones headed out to the event, 11 year old underestimating the wonderfulness of it all chose to do something else. As they made their way to 47th St, they could see the bubbles in air. At the sight of this, the little ones became so incredibly excited, they started walking faster.
When they arrived to the square, they found themselves surrounded by people of all ages and sizes blowing bubbles and pointing bubble guns towards one another, laughing and taking pictures. Mama’s boys didn’t really know how to react to so many bubbles, and for awhile just stood there watching them as they hit the ground.
As they stood there, two young women walked over to the boys and gave away their bubble machines to them! “Have fun!” they said as they walked away, leaving her kids with a huge smile on their faces as they squirted bubbles out of their new toy.
Even Daddy got into the spirit, becoming the official “bubble blower” and creating a bubble sculpture for the kids to play with.
It was awesome, standing there in the crowd, taking pictures, watching her children enjoy a crazy New York City moment, like the true New Yorkers they are!

Evelyn: I know! He saw the pics and regretted not going almost immediately…which I knew he would, which was the punishment for giving me such a hard time every time I tell him to get ready to go somewhere. lol!
